Goddess Garden: Sunscreens 101
Q: What is the difference between mineral and chemical sunscreen?
A: Minerals are natural ingredients, meaning naturally occurring from the Earth. The minerals we use in our sunscreens, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, do not soak into the skin and act as an invisible, physical barrier reflecting and scattering UV rays. Since the minerals sit on top of the skin, mineral sunscreens offer full-spectrum UVA/UVB protection immediately.
Chemical sunscreens, on the other hand, absorb UV rays into the skin. They take 20 minutes to become effective as a sunblock. Most disturbingly, chemicals in conventional sunscreens can break down over time into free radicals (potential carcinogens), and some UV blocker chemicals have been proven to be hormone disruptors.
Q: Why should people use sunscreen?
A: The sun’s intense ultraviolet rays (UVA and UVB) increase skin cancer risks, cause 90% of premature aging and can weaken the immune system. The ozone layer, the Earth’s protective shield, is thinner today than 25 years ago so we need to wear sunscreen to protect our skin.
Q: Do sunscreens prevent Vitamin D absorption?
A: Sunlight is an excellent source of vitamin D, and experts suggest getting 10 minutes of unprotected sun 3 times per week before applying sunscreen. After that, make sure to use mineral sunscreen to protect your skin naturally!

Q: What are the effective ingredients in Goddess Garden sunscreens?
A: The minerals we use in our sunscreens, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, do not soak into the skin and act as an invisible, physical barrier reflecting and scattering UV rays. Our Baby Sunscreen only uses zinc oxide since it is FDA approved for use on infants.
Q: What makes Goddess Garden sunscreen organic?
A: Our sunscreen is made with 92% - 95% certified organic ingredients. Goddess Garden uses only natural and certified organic ingredients in our formulations. One thing to note is that sun protection minerals account for 12-20% of our formulas and since they are in fact finely-ground minerals (ie. rocks), they cannot be "grown organically".
Q: Are your products vegan?
Q: Are your sunscreen gluten-free?
A: Goddess Garden products are vegan. Furthermore, we do not test on animals or use any animal by-products.
A: Goddess Garden products are gluten-free and safe to use by those people with gluten sensitivities.
Q: Are Goddess Garden sunscreens reef-safe?
A: Yes, all of our sunscreens are reef-safe and biodegradable!
Q: Do you Private Label your products?
A: Goddess Garden does not private label their products in the US.
Q: Do you use nanoparticles?
A: No. Nanoparticles are defined as particles smaller than 100 nanometers (nm). Goddess Garden uses micronized minerals with an average particle size greater than 100nm. FYI, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) “reviewed 16 peer-reviewed studies on skin absorption, nearly all showing no absorption of small-scale zinc and titanium sunscreen ingredients through healthy skin.”
Q: I don’t see the Sun Repair Products in the Wholesale Section – why?
A: We are in the process of re-packaging our Sun Repair line. For now, Goddess Garden Suncare line is the only line available to wholesalers.
Q: Do you have a minimum order?
A: We do not have a minimum order, but we do offer free UPS shipping on all orders over $150. Orders under $150 incur a shipping charge of $9.99.
Q: What promotions do you offer?
A: Opening orders receive a 20% discount.
Q: Can I mix and match products in an order?
A: Yes, you can buy individuals or by the case pack (typically 12 items in case pack).
Q: How do I place an order? Can I order online?
A: You can place a wholesale order online here on our website after getting your wholesale username and password from us; or via email, fax or directly with your local Goddess Garden sales broker. You can always call us at 1888-445-8725.
Q: Do you include testers with your orders?
A: We provide a set of free testers with each wholesale opening order over $150. In the future, please make a special note if you need a tester replacement added to your order.

Q: I’m interested in the standing retail display. Does it come preassembled?
A: For easier shipping, the retail display comes unassembled in a flat box. View directions here.
Q: Is the retail display free?
A: The retail display is free with sunscreen orders over $500 (after discounts). If you prefer to place a smaller order, you may purchase the display for $50.00. Goddess Garden’s retail displays typically average two to three times the sales velocity shelf stock alone.
Q: How many sunscreens do you recommend we put in the retail display?
A: We recommend selecting 72 pieces of Goddess Garden Natural Sunscreen for the nicest presentation. There are four shelves, and each shelf can accommodate 18 sunscreen tubes or 12 spray bottles.
Q: Does the display come filled with preselected product?
A: No. The display is customizable so you may choose which products you would like to carry in your store.
Q: Do you have anything we can put by the cash registers?
A: Yes! We have smaller Travel Pack Retail Displays for Kids and Everyday. These clear fishbowls come with 50 recyclable travel packs and a great header sign, and can be placed near the cash registers for trial and/or impulse buys. After your initial purchase, you can refill your fishbowls with travel packs ordering in individuals.
Q: What are your payment methods?
A: We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express.
Q: How do you ship your orders?
A: We ship via UPS Ground. Orders over $150 receive free shipping. If you would like to order less than $150, you may pay $9.99 for shipping.
Q: How long until I receive my order?
A: We process and ship orders daily. Typically you should receive your order within 7-10 business days. Please be aware that depending on your UPS shipping zone, it may take longer to receive your goods. Goddess Garden is located in Boulder, CO.
Q: Do you ship to Hawaii?
A: We do ship orders to Hawaii via US mail. Orders over $150 receive free shipping.
Q: Do you ship products internationally?

Q: Do you have bilingual labels? Spanish / English? French /English?
A: For Canadian customers, we have bilingual labels in French and English. In the US, our labels are in English.
