Starting with the first batch of sunscreen mixed in the family kitchen, our skincare products use all natural ingredients to protect the skin and feed it the nourishment it needs. Because every ingredient comes from nature, all our organic skincare products are safe for people and the planet. And if you’re wondering about those long names in parenthesis after some ingredients, don’t worry! They’re based on the ingredient’s scientific name and are required on cosmetic packaging. We included them so you know what to look for.

Flavor (Natural Raspberry and Vanilla)

We use these, along with essential oils, to give our Raspberry and Orange Vanilla lip balms some extra flavor. The EWG gives all flavors a higher rating because several ingredients may be listed under the term “flavor.” This is another reason we chose to be certified organic. As part of our organic certification, a third party guarantees all our natural flavors come from plants and meet their organic guidelines. These include:

1) Ingredients must be GMO-free.

2) No irradiated ingredients are allowed.

3) The ingredients cannot be grown or produced with sewage sludge.

4) None of the ingredients can be a formaldehyde donor, meaning they can’t give off formaldehyde.

French Green Clay (Illite)

Mineral-rich sea clay attracts mineral sunscreen and makeup like a magnet without harsh scrubbing. It also balances and tightens pores, leaving the skin clean, smooth and soft. French green clay belongs to a subcategory of clay minerals known as illite clays. These clays are so powerful, they have been used by environmental managers to remove such heavy metals as lead, cadmium and chromium from industrial wastewater.
